Family Photos | Christmas Card 2015 Edition
Every year, we take some form of a family photo for our Christmas card! This year, we really winged it. My mom, sister, and I were fighting crowds at a craft show all morning. Despite this, and the fact that I hadn’t washed my hair in three days (don’t judge), we decided it was now or never. Sure, we were a little casual, but hey – that’s the beauty of living the country life. Fortunately, we were all dressed in a similar color palette, so at least we had that going for us. :)
I insisted that Lucy (the chicken) be included in our family photo, as she is one of five feathered family members we got this year. Believe it or not, but the photo you are seeing is not Photoshop magic – it really IS our hunting dog, Charlie AND Lucy together in harmony. :)
It should be noted that my mom was the ONLY cooperative member of the family. She was a trooper about holding Lucy and being the model for me to get my camera set up… meanwhile, my dad was off checking trees, Rachel was letting Charlie do as he pleases (she really is quite a pushover when it comes to this dog), and Austin was about as dramatic as I imagine Tom Cruise being while on set.
Once I FINALLY got everyone settled, I had to sprint from my tripod to my family which resulted in dog poo on my boots. Shout out to my dad for being totally awesome and volunteering to hose them off for me! :)

I just emailed your mom to tell her this was a great photo! I really thought you all agreed to wear matching colors ahead of time. I guess a good photographer is the key to getting a good family photo! 🎄
