My Honey Stash
It’s only natural that I follow my evening tea post with a post about honey. The two go together hand-in-hand. I’ve come to realize that not all honeys are the same. This was made abundantly clear to me after I tried Kroger brand honey (grossssss). I hadn’t finished unpacking after I moved and couldn’t find my honey stash, so I figured Kroger would do the trick. It didn’t. :(
Over the past few years, I’ve gotten honey from friends, family, and the farmer’s market. These varieties have come from Wisconsin, Michigan, and even Florida. They range in flavor from a smooth caramel, light floral, and of course the classic clover taste. My mom also recently got some buckwheat honey, which reminds me of molasses and (from what I’ve been told) is ideal for a sore throat!
Next time you meet someone that is selling homegrown honey, try it out! :)
