Trendy Tuesday | Matte Lipstick
I heart lipstick… especially matte lipstick!
There’s just something about the matte look (and the fact that your hair doesn’t get stuck to your lips like when you wear lip gloss). This trend has been around for a little while, and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon (at least if I have a say in it).
In honor of this trend, here are a few of my favorite matte lippys!

Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color
Colors (left to right): Daringly Nude, Touch of Spice, Lust for Blush, Divine Wine
These are amazing, velvety lipsticks. They feel and wear like a traditional lipstick – super comfortable and moisturizing, but you do have to touch them up throughout the day. I wear these all the time because they’re so easy and the colors are perfect for everyday. Oh… and they smell like cotton candy. :)

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick
Colors (left to right): Tea & Cookies, Pink Lust, Vintage
These are my absolute favorites. They are not glossy, but not so matte that they dry your lips out. I’ve worn Pink Lust for 10 hours straight without having to retouch it (though the other colors last slightly less long). They’re absolutely beautiful all day long. A couple of important things to note on these, do not confuse them with the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream! The soft matte lip cream is great, but these are 1000x better!! Last thing, put on a thin layer of chapstick before you apply this – your lips will thank you for it. :)

L.A. Girl USA Matte Pigment Gloss
Colors: Playful, Rebel (the dark one)
I know, I know… this seems like the most sketchy brand ever, but trust me. I probably spent a day researching online before I bought these on Amazon and they are WELL WORTH the $5 I spent on them. Despite the name, these are NOT glossy at all. They dry down completely matte. These are the most heavy duty lipsticks I have ever worn and will last FOREVER on your lips (not kidding – they will still be there the next morning). However, when they do come off it’s not pretty, they can wear off a little patchy and your lips will need some TLC afterward. Yes, they are drying – but if you have an event to go to these are the one. They will not budge and Rebel is the prettiest plum lip color I’ve ever seen. :)
Burt’s Bees Lip Crayons (especially in Carolina Coast) and Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color both earned honorable mentions!
